Welcome information

We look forward to seeing you at the Museum and you will find lots to see and do from delving into the past to playing on our dedicated play area.

There is no booking required to visit,  we open seven days a week from 1000 to 1600, but do please check our opening times section as we may be closed on certain occasions.

Opening Hours:

The museum is open from 1000 – 1600* Monday-Sunday including Bank Holidays

Please note – The Museum will be closed from Friday 13th December until Monday 6th January 2025

Please note- There are occasional unforeseen closures to the Museum. Please check the website or contact the museum before you make a visit.

Admission Prices

Adults £7.00

Child 3-16 yrs £4.00 (Children under three are free)

Family ticket £20.00 2 Adults & up to 4 children

Admission charges may be subject to variation for Events, Discovery Days etc, please check the Event page for details.

Members of HM Armed Forces and MoD Staff are are free (on production of a valid identity card).

 

We welcome and encourage Gift Aid donations. Registered charity number 1096944.

  • Dogs are allowed on the museum site, but not in the outside exhibits or inside the Museum. They must be kept on a lead at all times and please clean up after your dog. Assistant dogs are welcome across all parts of the Museum site

The Museum building and outside exhibits are all available for hire. Please contact the Museum for further information.

Group Visits

The Museum welcomes groups and can tailor tours to suit all tastes – from general interest to military enthusiasts – all are bound to be fascinated by what they discover here at Whittington.

Severe weather guidelines

During the winter season there are occasions when we need to limit, or alter, our opening times to the museum or to some of our outdoor exhibits. If you are contemplating a visit and snow, ice or strong winds are forecast, please  check with us before making the journey. The museum  is open to 1600 each day.
