Covid 19 Update
We have introduced a number of changes to our operating procedures to ensure that you can enjoy your visit as safely as possible. Please take the time to download and read the Visitor Information sheet provided for you before you arrive on site.
There is no booking system in place but please be aware there may be delay in entering the Museum due to restrictions on amounts of visitors we can support in the Museum. There is a clearly marked one-way route around the Museum, in addition there are cleaning stations provided around the site.
Please be patient with our team if you are asked to wait upon arrival before admittance. Visitors are required to provide personal details for track and trace purposes and face masks must be worn inside the main museum building.
Please follow government advice when planning a visit to the Museum. If you or any of your household have any recognised symptoms of Covid-19, please do not visit the Museum.
The museum is open from 10am – 3pm* Monday-Sunday including Bank Holidays
A Christmas Closure will take place from December 21st until the first Monday in the New Year.
Please note- There are sometimes occasional closures at the museum. Please check the website or contact the museum before you make your visit.

If you are contemplating a visit and snow, ice or strong winds are forecast, please feel free to check with us before making the journey. The museum office is staffed until 4pm each day.
