The Museum was greatly saddened to hear of the death of our late Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The regiments that now make up the Mercian Regiment have been honored with a number of visits by Her late Majesty over the years, including this visit to the 2nd Battalion, Mercian Volunteers in her Golden Jubilee year in 1977. This Regiment included cadets from the then Cheshire, Worcester & Sherwood Foresters and Staffordshire Regiments.
The Museum would like to express its deepest condolences to all of her family.
